Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries, primarily in Europe, including Russia. In some regions, the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in…

Human trafficking is a global issue that still so many people are not aware of and if they are they don’t think it happens in there “backyard”.  The traffickers will continue to exploit people until the risk outweighs the reward. The vast majority of the world is completely unaware of the depth and how far reaching the issue is.  Public awareness is key and is crucial in the battle to end human trafficking. February 27th is Shine a Light on Slavery Day.

For over 400 years, more than 15 million men, women and children were the victims of the tragic transatlantic slave trade, one of the darkest chapters in human history.

The transatlantic slave trade was the largest forced migration in history, and undeniably one of the most inhumane. The extensive exodus of Africans spread to many areas of the world over a 400-year period and was unprecedented in the annals of recorded human history.

Every year the U.N. designates 25 March, the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade offers…

Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries, primarily in Europe, including Russia. In some regions, the day lost its political flavour, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in a way somewhat…
