Tuned In lead Actress Marley Cabral won the film’s 37 award at the Ozark Mountain Film Festival. She won the “Best Young Actress” award for portrayal of Emma in the film. This is Marley’s 5th Best Actress award for the role of Emma. She also has two prestigious Nominations in big festivals. (MIC International Awards Gala nomination for Youth for Best Actress in a short film (Age 16 Category) and International Christian Film Festival nomination for Best Actress). In both cases she did not win but it was an honour to be nominated.
Marley has also worked with Marshall on Malicious Attack the film about bullying where Cabral played one of the four main characters named Brittany who is one of the characters bullying various students in the school. Cabral is also signed on to play a small role in Marshall’s newest film Blue Love. Her character’s name is Diamond.
With Cabral’s win that brings the film to 37th Awards, 22 Official Selections, 3 Official Nominations, 2 Official Finalist Awards and 2 Official Semi Finalist Awards at Festivals around the world. Further adding to the film’s success and adding the level that it has surpassed the award winning film of Daughter of the King. Marshall notes “ ‘Tuned In’ just continues to climb in its success and it blows me away. It is closing in on the prestigious 40 awards,” says Marshall. Daughter of the King which won 32 Awards and had 16 Official Selections, 3 Nominations and an Official Finalist at film festivals all around the world. Now tuned in is just three awards away from reaching the 40 awards mark. Which with the festivals left for Tuned In is highly likely to happen. But Marshall is being cautiously optimistic.
Tuned In is a short film, was made under the banner of m & s Marshall Productions. Tuned In deals with family, relationships cell phones and communication. “Finding the right frequency on a radio is crucial to hearing the program that is on the air. The same is true for relationships”, says Marshall. The film is a story about Emma (Marley Cabral), a teenager who disobeys dinner table rules of her parents and gets grounded until she learns to get priorities straight and learns the value of relationships. “A major part of the story deals with the frustration of Emma’s parents and friend Stacey, none of whom can seem to get ‘tuned in’ to Emma’s frequency and break her connection with her cell phone”, adds Marshall. It’s a film that ask the question Are You Listening?
The cast of the film is Marley Cabral as the lead Emma, Corina Leatherdale as mom, Jamie Rainbird as the father, Talitha Wood as Emma’s best Friend Stacey and Brittany Sterling as Emma’s sibling.
