The very talented local dancer and actress Katie Ostojic will be part of the upcoming Dance Extreme Showcase 2017 on February 18th and 19th.  An event put on by the Dance Studio, located in London, Ontario to show case the talented individuals who are part of their studio programs.


Katie Ostojic has been dancing competitively since she was 8 years old. She has participated as a backup dancer in the Family Channel’s, The Next Step and in the summer of 2012 her dance troupe travelled to London, England to provide entertainment through dance at the Summer Olympics.


Ostojic’s training in dance landed her the lead role in the short film “Struggles Within” which is about depression and is told entirely through the art of dance with no words. It looks at one young woman’s struggle and her choice as to whether she wants to continue to live.  The film was filmed in the summer of 2016 by IME Films and m & s Marshall Production. It featured an entire cast of local dancers from St Thomas and London area.  The film was written and directed by Corrinne Wood and currently is in post-production.


Along with dance, Ostojic is also very talented in acting. She played a student in the short film “Tuned In” under the banner of m & s Marshall Productions and its co-owner and director of the film, Matthew Marshall. Currently she is playing the lead role of Naomi Spencer in Marshall’s newest short film Malicious Attack about bullying. Within the film Ostojic will again get to showcase her moves as a dancer as the film has an artist dance sequence.


The Dance Extreme Showcase 2017 will take place on February 18th and 19th at Paul Davenport Theatre located on the UWO campus.  Shows are Saturday February 18th @ 6:00pm, and then Sunday, February 19th @ 1pm and 6pm. Tickets are $18 in advance and $25 at the door.
